This critical role is centered on our Bulk Carrier and General Cargo Coaster vessels. Responsibilities
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all machinery including main engines, auxiliaries, and electrical systems.
- Manage the engine department budget and maintain accurate inventory of spare parts and consumables.
- Implement and supervise the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) to minimize downtime and ensure vessel reliability.
- Ensure strict compliance with international maritime regulations, including MARPOL, SOLAS, and STCW.
- Supervise bunkering operations and monitor fuel/oil consumption to optimize efficiency and environmental compliance.
- Maintain comprehensive engine room logs, technical reports, and safety documentation.
- Lead and mentor junior engine crew members, fostering a culture of safety and technical excellence.
- Prepare the vessel for inspections and surveys by classification societies and port state control.
Qualifications
- Valid PRC License as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer (Management Level).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar rank on Bulk Carriers or General Cargo vessels.
- Complete and updated STCW mandatory training and certificates.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining coaster-trade vessel machinery.
- Strong understanding of maritime safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Valid Seaman’s Identity and Record Book (SIRB) and Medical Certificate (PME).
- Excellent technical troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong leadership and communication skills in English and Tagalog.
