Responsibilities
- Leadership & Planning: Formulate and implement comprehensive agricultural development plans and programs aligned with national and local government goals.
- Program Management: Oversee the execution of crop production projects, soil conservation efforts, and pest control management strategies.
- Team Supervision: Manage, train, and supervise agricultural extension workers and technical staff to ensure operational excellence.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with the Civil Service Commission, LGU partners, and private sector entities to secure grants and technical assistance.
- Farmer Support: Organize capacity-building activities, seminars, and field demonstrations to enhance the skills of local farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Prepare regular progress reports, budget proposals, and project evaluations for the City Mayor and the Sangguniang Bayan.
- Regulatory Compliance: Enforce agricultural laws, ordinances, and regulations to ensure fair trade and protect local produce.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Licensure: Must be a Registered Professional Agriculturist (P.A.) or eligible to take the Licensure Examination for Agriculturists.
- Civil Service Eligibility: Must possess a valid Professional or Subprofessional Civil Service Eligibility (Rating of at least 80%) or a Career Service Eligibility.
- Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience in local government service or agricultural management.
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading a department or managing a team of professionals.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Filipino.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in agricultural software, project management tools, and data analysis.
