Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize daily operations of the composting plant, ensuring efficient processing of organic waste materials.
- Coordinate waste intake, sorting, and processing activities in adherence to company protocols and environmental regulations.
- Oversee the care and management of livestock integrated into the compost production cycle, ensuring their health and contribution to the process.
- Monitor and control environmental parameters within the composting system (e.g., temperature, moisture, aeration).
- Apply and manage biological treatments and necessary chemical inputs to enhance decomposition and compost quality.
- Conduct regular inspections of plant equipment and infrastructure, reporting any maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of compost production, waste inputs, process parameters, and livestock activities.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and best practices across all plant operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Agriculture, Horticulture, Waste Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in composting operations, organic waste management, or related agricultural processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of biological treatment methods and chemical inputs for composting.
- Experience with livestock management, preferably within an agricultural or waste management context.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and safety standards applicable to composting facilities.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot plant machinery and equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for process monitoring and record-keeping.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
