Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive communications and branding strategies aligned with the university's strategic goals
- Lead and manage a team of communications professionals, providing mentorship and direction
- Oversee all aspects of digital communications, including website management, social media, and content creation
- Coordinate crisis communications and manage the university's reputation
- Collaborate with academic departments to promote research initiatives and educational programs
- Manage communications budgets and ensure effective resource allocation
- Establish relationships with media outlets and coordinate media relations activities
- Measure and report on communications effectiveness using key performance indicators
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in communications, branding, or marketing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful communications strategies
- Experience working in higher education or a comparable large organization
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and developing talent
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to craft compelling narratives
- Strategic thinking with ability to align communications with organizational objectives
- Demonstrated experience with digital communications tools and analytics platforms
