Responsibilities
- Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex commercial contracts to ensure alignment with Group policies and legal requirements.
- Provide expert advice to internal stakeholders on contractual risks, liabilities, and mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain a centralized contract management system to track renewals, compliance milestones, and performance obligations.
- Analyze commercial terms and conditions to identify potential financial and operational risks, providing actionable recommendations to senior management.
- Manage and resolve contractual disputes or claims in collaboration with the legal department and external counsel where necessary.
- Drive the standardization of contract templates and processes to improve efficiency and consistency across various business units.
- Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends to ensure all contracts remain compliant with local and international laws.
- Collaborate with procurement and project teams to ensure subcontractors and vendors strictly adhere to agreed contractual terms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., IACCM) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in contract management, legal counsel, or commercial management within a large corporate environment.
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating high-value, complex commercial agreements.
- Strong understanding of Singapore contract law and international commercial practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with an uncompromising attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- High level of integrity and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with absolute discretion.
- Proficiency in modern contract management software (CLM) and the Microsoft Office Suite.
