About the Role
Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA), one of Indonesia's leading mining contractors, is seeking a high-caliber Plant Planner Group Leader to join our maintenance excellence team. This critical role is responsible for orchestrating the maintenance lifecycle of our extensive heavy equipment fleet. You will play a pivotal part in maximizing physical availability (PA) and optimizing maintenance costs through strategic planning and data-driven decision-making.
As a Plant Planner GL, you will bridge the gap between technical operations and strategic asset management. You will be tasked with analyzing maintenance data, predicting component lifetimes, and ensuring that every unitâfrom haul trucks to excavatorsâoperates at peak efficiency. Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee comprehensive weekly, monthly, and long-term maintenance schedules for all mining units and auxiliary equipment.
- Analyze equipment performance trends and failure data to provide actionable insights for improving Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
- Coordinate with the procurement and warehouse departments to ensure the timely availability of spare parts and components for planned interventions.
- Monitor and manage the maintenance backlog, prioritizing work orders based on criticality and resource availability.
- Generate detailed reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including Physical Availability (PA), Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), and maintenance budget compliance.
- Lead daily planning meetings with site maintenance supervisors to align operational goals and resource distribution.
- Optimize Component Life Cycle management to ensure maximum utility of assets while minimizing the risk of catastrophic failure.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in plant maintenance planning, specifically within the mining or heavy equipment industry.
- Proven expertise in using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) such as SAP, Ellipse, or AMT.
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment components and maintenance procedures for brands like Komatsu, Caterpillar, and Hitachi.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical data and translate it into strategic plans.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to mentor junior planners and drive team performance.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage stakeholders across various departments.
