Responsibilities
- Monitor compliance with environmental laws, rules, and regulations, including those set by the DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources).
- Prepare and submit environmental reports such as Self-Monitoring Reports (SMRs), Annual Report (AR), and other pertinent documents to regulatory bodies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's Environmental Management System (EMS) and Pollution Control Program.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of company facilities to identify potential environmental hazards and non-compliance issues.
- Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions to address environmental deficiencies.
- Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste generation, segregation, storage, collection, and disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Educate and train employees on environmental awareness, pollution prevention, and proper waste management practices.
- Act as a liaison between the company and environmental regulatory agencies, coordinating with government inspectors and responding to inquiries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, or a related science field.
- Must be a DENR-accredited Pollution Control Officer with a valid PCO certificate.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in environmental compliance, EHS, or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine environmental laws, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Ecological Solid Waste Management Act, and Toxic Substances and Hazardous and Nuclear Wastes Control Act.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in preparing comprehensive environmental reports and documentation.
- Ability to effectively communicate environmental requirements and foster a culture of compliance.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
