Are you an experienced operations professional with a deep understanding of palm oil milling? Syarikat Peladang Dan Perusahaan Minyak, a leading player in the Malaysian palm oil industry, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Assistant Manager to join our team in Hilir Perak District, Perak.
In this critical leadership role, you will work closely with the Mill Manager to oversee daily operations, ensuring maximum efficiency, product quality, and strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations. You will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing a diverse team of supervisors and operators, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the mill.
This position demands a highly organized and hands-on individual who can troubleshoot operational issues, maintain stringent quality control standards, and assist in managing the mill's budget effectively. You will play a key role in optimizing oil extraction rates (OER), reducing processing downtime, and ensuring all outputs meet the highest industry and sustainability standards.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Mill Manager in planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of palm oil mill operations to achieve production targets.
- Monitor and optimize the milling process to maximize Oil Extraction Rates (OER) while minimizing operational losses and downtime.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor shift supervisors, engineers, and plant operators to ensure high performance and strict adherence to SOPs.
- Enforce robust compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) regulations and certifications such as ISO, RSPO, and MSPO.
- Manage production schedules, Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) intake, and inventory control for spare parts and consumables.
- Coordinate and oversee preventive maintenance programs for all mill machinery to ensure optimal reliability.
- Prepare detailed operational reports, analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with upstream estates, logistics providers, and downstream refineries to ensure a seamless supply chain.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering, Plantation Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–7 years of working experience in the palm oil milling industry, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or senior management role.
- A valid Boiler Engineer / Grade 1 or 2 Steam Engineer certificate issued by DOSH is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of milling processes, quality control, and industry regulations (ISO, RSPO, MSPO, MYR 2010).
- Proven track record in leading teams, managing production targets, and driving operational efficiency.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Must be willing to be based in Hilir Perak District, Perak, and to work flexible hours during peak seasons.
