Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive public affairs and communications strategies aligned with business goals across Asia.
- Manage proactive and reactive media relations, acting as a key spokesperson for the region when required.
- Provide strategic counsel to senior management on public affairs matters, potential reputational risks, and communication opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead crisis communications efforts, ensuring timely and effective responses to mitigate reputational damage.
- Monitor and analyze political, regulatory, and media landscapes across key Asian markets to inform strategy and anticipate challenges.
- Oversee internal communications initiatives to ensure alignment and engagement across regional teams.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and stakeholder forums throughout Asia.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in Public Affairs, Corporate Communications, or Government Relations, with significant exposure to the Asia region.
- Proven track record in a leadership role, managing complex communications strategies for large organizations, preferably within the telecommunications, technology, or a regulated industry.
- Deep understanding of the political, economic, and media landscapes across diverse Asian markets.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in crisis management, media relations, and stakeholder engagement at a senior level.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable communication strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multinational environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
