Are you a seasoned strategic leader with a passion for navigating complex regulatory landscapes? Msfusion Sdn Bhd is seeking a high-caliber Senior Manager for Government Relations, Tax & Customs Affairs to spearhead our large-scale Data Centre expansion project in Kuala Lumpur.
In this mission-critical role, you will act as the primary liaison between our organization and key governmental bodies, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders. You will be instrumental in shaping our tax strategy, ensuring seamless customs compliance for global hardware procurement, and advocating for policies that facilitate our infrastructure growth. This is a unique opportunity for a government relations expert to shape the future of digital infrastructure in the region while operating at the nexus of technology, finance, and public policy.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive government engagement strategies to support the successful deployment of large-scale Data Centre infrastructure.
- Lead complex negotiations with tax authorities and customs departments to optimize tariff structures and expedite cross-border equipment transit.
- Monitor and analyze legislative trends, tax policy shifts, and regulatory changes that impact data center operations and digital infrastructure.
- Cultivate and maintain robust professional relationships with key ministry officials, policy makers, and industry associations.
- Provide expert advisory to senior leadership regarding regulatory compliance, fiscal incentives, and government-backed infrastructure initiatives.
- Mitigate operational risks by ensuring full compliance with local customs regulations, import duties, and VAT requirements.
- Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams to integrate government affairs goals into the broader business roadmap.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Public Policy, Finance, Economics, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CTA, CTP) is highly desirable.
- Minimum 8-10 years of professional experience in government relations, corporate tax, or customs management, preferably within the tech, infrastructure, or telecommunications sector.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex stakeholder relationships and influencing policy at the ministerial or agency level.
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian tax legislation, customs procedures, and regulatory compliance standards for heavy infrastructure projects.
- Superior communication, negotiation, and public speaking skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate complex policy matters into actionable business insights.
- Proven track record of managing cross-functional initiatives in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
