Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) process from initial conceptualization to final market launch.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends and white-space opportunities in the cosmetic sector.
- Coordinate seamlessly with R&D, production, and procurement departments to evaluate product feasibility and manufacturing scalability.
- Manage and maintain detailed product technical dossiers, including ingredient lists, safety data, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Source and vet new raw materials and innovative packaging solutions from local and international suppliers.
- Monitor and oversee stability testing, compatibility tests, and performance trials to ensure product excellence.
- Develop and track project timelines (Gantt charts) to ensure all product launches hit scheduled milestones.
- Liaise with the marketing team to provide technical product knowledge for promotional materials and product storytelling.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in product development within the Cosmetic, Personal Care, or FMCG industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian cosmetic regulations (NPRA) and international compliance standards.
- Proven track record of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and product aesthetics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solver with a results-oriented approach to product challenges.
- Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; ability to speak Mandarin is an added advantage.
