PT. Hobe Bar Indonesia, a dynamic and growing company in the retail and hospitality sector, is seeking a highly skilled Staff Mandarin Speaker to join our team in West Jakarta. As a key bridge between our management and Chinese-speaking partners, clients, and vendors, you will ensure seamless communication and accurate translation of business documents, meetings, and daily correspondence.
This role requires not only exceptional Mandarin fluency but also a keen understanding of business etiquette, cultural nuances, and professional documentation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including administration, marketing, and operations, to facilitate smooth collaboration and drive business growth.

Responsibilities
- Translate and interpret Mandarin to Bahasa Indonesia and English (and vice versa) for internal meetings, client calls, and business negotiations.
- Translate written documents such as contracts, reports, emails, and marketing materials with high accuracy and cultural appropriateness.
- Assist in cross-cultural communication by clarifying terminology, context, and intent to avoid misunderstandings.
- Support the administration team with bilingual document preparation, filing, and data entry.
- Coordinate with external partners and vendors who primarily communicate in Mandarin.
- Maintain a glossary of frequently used terms and update translation guidelines for consistency.
- Act as a liaison during business trips, exhibitions, or trade shows when required.
- Provide real-time interpretation during conferences, training sessions, and strategic meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language, Translation, Linguistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a Mandarin translator or interpreter, preferably in a corporate or administrative setting.
- Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin (HSK 5 or equivalent) and excellent command of English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Strong understanding of business correspondence, contract terminology, and office administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic translation tools (e.g., SDL Trados, memoQ) is a plus.
- Excellent listening, writing, and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
