Fastlane Capital Limited is a forward-thinking financial services firm specializing in serving international clients. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Account Executive/ Accountant to join our team in Petaling Jaya. In this role, you will take full ownership of accounting functions for a portfolio of Hong Kong clients, utilizing Xero and other cloud-based accounting platforms to deliver accurate and timely financial reporting. Working directly with clients and internal teams, you will ensure compliance with Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS) and tax regulations, manage day-to-day transactions, and provide strategic insights to help our clients make informed decisions. Responsibilities
- Manage full sets of accounts for Hong Kong clients, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and financial statements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management accounts
- Perform reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and intercompany transactions
- Ensure compliance with HKFRS and Hong Kong tax laws (profits tax, filing requirements)
- Liaise with clients to resolve accounting issues and provide timely financial information
- Assist in year-end audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors
- Continuously review and improve accounting processes and internal controls
- Support ad-hoc financial analyses and projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably handling Hong Kong clients
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software (Xero certification is an advantage)
- Strong knowledge of Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS) and tax regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; Cantonese or Mandarin is a plus
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Experience with other cloud accounting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) is beneficial
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent is highly desirable
