Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full spectrum of accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and fixed assets to ensure timely month-end closing.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis for senior management review.
- Ensure full compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and tax regulations including SST and corporate tax.
- Oversee the annual audit process, coordinate with external auditors, and prepare audit schedules.
- Develop and maintain robust internal control policies and standard operating procedures for the finance department.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals to achieve departmental goals.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning activities.
- Handle ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent. Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, MIA) are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Solid understanding of MFRS, MPERS, SST, and corporate taxation laws in Malaysia.
- Highly proficient in accounting software (e.g., SQL Accounting, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of managing teams and cross-functional relationships.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both spoken and written.
