Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for Australian clients, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare and review financial statements, BAS/IAS returns, and payroll reports in compliance with Australian tax laws
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support client decision-making
- Liaise with Australian external auditors and tax authorities as needed
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial integrity
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to stakeholders
- Continuously improve accounting processes using cloud-based tools (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent
- At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on Australian accounting standards (AASB, IFRS)
- CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred
- Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks – experience with APS or other AU-specific software is a plus
- Solid understanding of Australian tax regulations (GST, PAYG, FBT, BAS/IAS)
- Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setup, with a reliable internet connection
