Responsibilities
- Supervise daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, and month-end closing
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance financial reporting accuracy and operational efficiency
- Manage and mentor accounting team members, fostering professional development and high performance
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards (MFRS) and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and variance reports for management
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits and compliance reviews
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support financial decision-making
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional certification like ACCA/MIA will be an advantage)
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in supervisory role
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian financial regulations and tax compliance
- Proven track record in process improvement and financial system optimization
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Exceptional leadership abilities with experience in team development
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and reporting
