As the Assistant Finance Manager, you will work closely with the regional finance leadership to ensure the accuracy of financial data, maintain robust internal controls, and provide strategic insights that drive business growth. Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly management reports and consolidated financial statements in compliance with MFRS/IFRS.
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycle, providing detailed variance analysis to assist management in strategic planning.
- Ensure full compliance with local tax regulations, including SST filings, corporate tax computations, and withholding tax matters.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretaries to ensure all statutory requirements are met.
- Monitor and manage company cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships effectively.
- Enhance and implement internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and improve operational efficiency.
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior accounting staff to ensure professional growth and high-quality output.
Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification such as ACCA, CPA, MICPA, or MIA membership is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and local tax laws.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, SQL, or SAP) and advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- High level of integrity and the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
