Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the General Ledger and Non‑trade accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions.
- Oversee month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and statutory disclosures in compliance with SGX and IFRS/GAAP requirements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long‑term financial planning activities for the retail business.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, addressing auditor queries and implementing recommended improvements.
- Drive process optimization initiatives, leveraging automation and best practices to enhance efficiency and controls.
- Mentor and develop junior finance staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and accountability.
- Act as a finance business partner to operational teams, providing insights and guidance on financial implications of business decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) is advantageous.
- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within a retail, hospitality, or multinational environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/SFRS, GAAP, and local statutory requirements.
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Demonstrated ability to manage month‑end close, financial reporting, and audit coordination.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience, with a track record of developing team members.
