Interlocal Exim Pte Ltd is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will perform routine inspections, diagnose faults, and carry out preventative maintenance across electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and general building services. You will execute repairs with quality workmanship, document work orders, and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to minimize downtime. A proactive approach to safety, energy efficiency, and regulatory compliance is essential.
What youâll do: Youâll repair and service equipment, perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements that enhance reliability and cost efficiency. Youâll monitor building conditions, manage inventory, and contribute to small-scale retrofit projects. Youâll also participate in emergency response and after-hours support when required, maintaining a professional, customer-focused service mindset.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general facilities) across industrial, residential, and commercial properties.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment; conduct tests to ensure proper operation and energy efficiency.
- Respond to maintenance requests, coordinate with external vendors, and manage work orders to ensure timely resolution.
- Maintain safety and compliance by following established procedures and conducting regular safety checks.
- Monitor facility conditions, perform lighting maintenance, and manage small-scale repairs and improvements.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and parts usage; assist with budget and cost control.
- Assist in project-based improvements and renovations, supporting contractors and delivering quality workmanship.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of relevant maintenance experience or a completed apprenticeship in building services, facilities management, or related trades.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems; ability to read simple blueprints and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; proactive and customer-focused attitude.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with local regulations; awareness of PPE and safe work practices.
- Good communication and teamwork; able to work across shifts, including after-hours on-call as needed.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks, lift moderate weights, and work in varying environments.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and experience with maintenance management systems or work-order software is a plus.
