Job Description

Trust Recruit is partnering with a leading Japanese trading company to recruit a high-caliber Business Development professional for raw materials. Based in Jakarta Selatan, this role focuses on expanding supply networks, accelerating revenue growth, and delivering reliable sourcing solutions for customers across Indonesia and Southeast Asia. In this full-time position, you will work within a dynamic team that values integrity, collaboration, and results.

Your mission is to identify and capture new opportunities in the raw materials sector, build durable relationships with suppliers, customers, and partners, and drive the end-to-end sales process from initial contact to contract signing. You will coordinate with procurement, logistics, and compliance to ensure seamless operations, while keeping a close eye on market trends and price movements to protect margins and manage risk.

We seek a proactive negotiator who can articulate value propositions, develop compelling proposals, and deliver measurable outcomes against revenue targets. This role offers exposure to a global trading network, opportunities for professional growth, and a competitive compensation package. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Japanese will be considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in raw materials markets, focusing on feedstock, chemicals, metals, or related commodities.
  • Develop and manage relationships with suppliers, customers, and strategic partners in Indonesia and regional markets.
  • Lead end-to-end sales cycles, from lead generation and qualification to negotiation and deal closure.
  • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and compliance teams to ensure seamless, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain operations.
  • Monitor market trends, price movements, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform strategy and pricing.
  • Prepare compelling proposals, bids, and contracts; negotiate terms and close deals; manage risk and credit considerations.
  • Achieve or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets; contribute to business planning and forecasting.
  • Represent the company at industry events, tradeshows, and customer visits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, international trade, supply chain, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development or sales within raw materials trading or a related sector.
  • Strong network of suppliers and clients in the Indonesian raw materials market.
  • Proven track record of closing deals and meeting revenue targets.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and MS Office; familiarity with ERP or supply chain software.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills; fluent in English; knowledge of Japanese is a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and regionally as needed.
