Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
- Diagnose engine, transmission, braking, and suspension problems using OBD-II scanners and other diagnostic equipment.
- Carry out routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, brake servicing, and tire rotations.
- Execute complex repairs such as engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and adheres to safety and environmental standards.
- Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair recommendations clearly to customers.
- Stay current with industry advancements through ongoing training and certification programs.
Qualifications
- Minimum SPM or equivalent qualification; technical certification in automotive technology is a plus.
- Proven experience as a car mechanic or automotive technician, preferably in a workshop setting.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and electronics.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as OBD-II scanners, multimeters, and hydraulic lifts.
