Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily maintenance and repair operations of the entire fleet to ensure maximum uptime.
- Develop and implement robust preventative maintenance schedules for all machinery and vehicles.
- Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to a team of junior mechanics and workshop staff.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic tools and industry best practices.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs, inventory of spare parts, and service records in compliance with safety regulations.
- Coordinate with procurement to source high-quality parts and manage maintenance budgets effectively.
- Ensure all workshop activities adhere to strict Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
- Analyze fleet performance data to identify areas for efficiency improvements and cost reduction.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certification in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in heavy equipment or fleet maintenance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and modern electronic diagnostic systems.
- Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering blueprints.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate a technical team.
- Valid driver’s license and proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
