In this role, you will oversee the credit and collection team, develop strategies to minimize risk, and maintain strong customer relationships. Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily activities of the credit and collection team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and account reconciliations.
- Establish and implement credit policies, credit limits, and collection procedures to minimize bad debt and optimize cash flow.
- Monitor aging reports, identify delinquent accounts, and initiate collection actions including calls, letters, and escalations.
- Coordinate with sales and customer service to resolve billing disputes and negotiate payment plans.
- Prepare monthly reports on collection performance, DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and credit risk analysis for management review.
- Conduct periodic credit evaluations of new and existing customers using financial data and credit bureau reports.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to improve productivity and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in credit and collection, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and credit risk management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks).
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to handle difficult conversations with customers.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Background in the chemical, manufacturing, or distribution industry is a plus.
- Must be willing to work onsite in Mandaluyong City.
