Key responsibilities include the preparation of timely monthly closes, audit readiness, tax planning, and partnering with operations to optimize cost structures. You will synthesize financial data into actionable insights for management, support strategic decisions, and ensure accuracy of financial statements.
What we look for in you: a professional accounting/finance degree with professional qualifications (ACCA/CPA, or equivalent), 5+ years of progressive finance experience, and leadership capability to manage a team across branches. Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee accounting operations for NSK Grocer across multiple retail branches, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial data.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making and cost optimization.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships to maintain liquidity and optimize capital structure.
- Maintain robust internal controls, risk management processes, and compliance with statutory tax and financial reporting obligations.
- Coordinate external audits, statutory filings, and liaison with tax authorities; implement process improvements across finance operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team; collaborate with operations and commercial teams to deliver financial insights.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
- 5+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial/leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and Malaysian accounting standards (MFRS/MKSA) and tax regulations.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, MYOB, or QuickBooks) and Excel modeling.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Demonstrated integrity, attention to detail, and ability to uphold high ethical standards.
