Are you an experienced Finance professional with a deep understanding of the Construction and Engineering sector? Our client, a reputable firm in the industry, is looking for a meticulous Finance Manager to join their team in the North Region. This is a critical role where you will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of projects, specifically managing Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounts, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
As the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in financial planning, analysis, and strategy. You will collaborate closely with project managers and operations teams to monitor project costs, recognize revenue accurately, and optimize cash flow. This role offers a stable 5-day work week and a competitive compensation package, including a 13th-month bonus and performance-based incentives.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full spectrum of financial operations, including month-end closing, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Lead WIP (Work-in-Progress) accounting, ensuring accurate project revenue recognition and cost tracking.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including P&L analysis, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for management review.
- Collaborate with project engineers and operations managers to ensure accurate data submission and cost control.
- Oversee taxation, audit preparation, and compliance with statutory and corporate financial regulations.
- Review project contracts and track progress claims to ensure optimal billing and collection cycles.
- Implement and improve internal financial controls and accounting processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related professional certification (ACCA, CA, or CPA).
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial management, with at least 3 years specifically within the Construction or Engineering industry.
- Mandatory: Hands-on proficiency in managing Work-in-Progress (WIP) and project accounting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable business insights.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MYOB, or industry-specific construction software).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to work effectively across different departments.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
