Key responsibilities will include overseeing the full spectrum of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. You will manage the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders, board members, and external donors. The role also involves ensuring compliance with local tax laws, NGO regulations, and grant conditions. You will lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors. Additionally, you will develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls.
As a Finance Manager in the non-profit sector, you will also play a key role in grant management, including tracking grant expenditures, reporting to funders, and ensuring that funds are used in accordance with agreements. You will supervise a small finance team, providing mentorship and support to help them grow professionally.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in the non-profit sector being an advantage. You should possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required, and a professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA is highly desirable.
This is a contract position based in Kuala Lumpur, offering a monthly salary of RM 10,000 to RM 12,000. Responsibilities
- Oversee the full spectrum of financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for management, board, and donors.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, tax laws, and grant conditions.
- Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and investment activities.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Supervise and mentor the finance team to achieve departmental goals.
- Support grant management including tracking expenditures and reporting to funders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in the non-profit or NGO sector is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
