We are currently looking for a dedicated and artistically inclined Florist Assistant to join our growing team in Geylang Bahru.
Your Role as a Florist Assistant
As a Florist Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating serene and beautiful environments for families to say their goodbyes. Working closely with our senior florists, you will assist in the sourcing, preparation, and arrangement of fresh floral tributes. Your responsibilities will range from crafting elegant casket sprays and sympathy wreaths to maintaining the freshness and quality of our inventory. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, a steady hand, and a warm, empathetic approach to serving families during their time of need.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with lead florists to design and execute a wide range of funeral floral arrangements, including casket sprays, wreaths, sheaves, and sympathy bouquets.
- Ensure the freshness and longevity of all flowers through proper hydration, trimming, and storage techniques in compliance with company standards.
- Manage inventory by receiving, inspecting, and rotating floral stock, and assisting with supply orders to prevent shortages during peak periods.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment in the floral design studio and cold storage rooms to uphold hygiene and safety standards.
- Liaise respectfully with funeral directors and family members to understand specific floral preferences, themes, and colour schemes for services.
- Prepare and package completed arrangements securely for transport to wakes, funeral homes, and crematoria, ensuring presentation quality.
- Support the team during busy seasons including Chinese festivals, long weekends, and public holidays to ensure timely delivery of all orders.
- Participate in ongoing training to refine your floristry skills and learn new design techniques relevant to the funeral sector.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a florist role, horticulture, or a related design field is strongly preferred.
- A sharp eye for colour theory, form, and texture, with the ability to create balanced and emotionally resonant designs.
- Physical stamina and strength to stand for extended periods and lift heavy floral arrangements and supplies (up to 15–20 kg).
- Excellent manual dexterity and fine motor skills to work neatly with stems, wiring, and delicate botanical materials.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with a natural sense of empathy, discretion, and professionalism when interacting with bereaved families.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, emotionally sensitive environment.
- Flexibility to work a rotating schedule that includes early mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and proper handling of floral tools, materials, and chemicals.
