We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Formwork & Carpentry Worker to join our construction team at a prominent mining site in Sintok, Kedah. In this role, you will be instrumental in the structural integrity of our infrastructure projects, ensuring that all formwork and carpentry works are executed to precise specifications and stringent safety standards.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced mining environment, managing the assembly, installation, and dismantling of heavy-duty formwork systems. Responsibilities
- Construct, erect, and dismantle various formwork systems for concrete structures according to engineering drawings.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, metal, and plastic materials for structural supports.
- Collaborate with concrete crews to ensure molds are set correctly before the pouring process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored.
- Perform regular inspections of formwork to ensure stability and safety throughout the concrete curing process.
- Assist in general site carpentry tasks, including scaffolding assembly and structural bracing.
- Follow all site-specific safety regulations and OSHA guidelines for mining operations.
- Identify and report structural irregularities or equipment maintenance needs to the Site Supervisor immediately.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Formwork Carpenter or in a similar construction trade, preferably within mining or heavy industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of structural blueprints, technical drawings, and building codes.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools (saws, drills, levels, etc.).
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor, mining site environments.
- Valid CIDB Green Card or relevant local safety certification is highly preferred.
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse site crews.
- High attention to detail with a focus on structural accuracy and safety.
- Willingness to work on a contract basis and adhere to site-specific shift schedules.
