Responsibilities
- Develop and implement rigorous, standards-aligned lesson plans across all subject areas for K-12 students
- Deliver instruction using diverse teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and abilities
- Evaluate and assess student progress through quizzes, tests, projects, and performance-based assignments
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning
- Collaborate with fellow educators, school counselors, and administrators to support student development
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding academic performance and behavior
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide events
- Utilize educational technology and data-driven insights to enhance teaching effectiveness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a content-specific field required; Master's degree preferred
- Valid Illinois Teaching License (Type 03, 04, 05, or 09) or ability to obtain certification
- Prior classroom experience preferred; new graduates with student teaching experience encouraged to apply
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with fluency in classroom management techniques
- Proficiency in educational technology platforms and learning management systems
- Flexibility and adaptability to work with varying curricula and student populations
- Background check clearance and negative tuberculosis test required
- Familiarity with Common Core State Standards and culturally responsive teaching practices preferred
