Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join the facility management team at a premier shopping mall located in the heart of Orchard, Singapore. This role offers an attractive monthly salary of up to $3,145 (depending on experience) plus allowances and performance bonuses. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and upkeep of all building systems, equipment, and infrastructure within a bustling retail environment.
As a key member of the maintenance team, you will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems, and respond promptly to tenant and guest requests. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, relevant certifications (e.g., WSQ, NITEC), and prior experience in commercial or shopping mall maintenance. Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety systems within the shopping mall.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions in building equipment, including escalators, elevators, lighting, and security systems.
- Respond promptly to tenant and guest maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption to mall operations.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and ensure work is completed to safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory of spare parts, and equipment logs.
- Assist with building improvement projects, renovations, and ad-hoc technical tasks as assigned.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety protocols, and company policies at all times.
- Monitor energy consumption and suggest improvements for operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- NITEC, Higher NITEC, or diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance, preferably in a shopping mall, hotel, or commercial facility.
- Valid Singapore Electrical Worker License or relevant trade certification (e.g., Fire Safety Manager, HVAC technician) is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
- Physically fit to perform manual tasks, climb ladders, and work in varied environments.
- Good communication skills in English; able to interact with tenants, vendors, and management.
