In this role, you will be responsible for translating written documents—including manuals, reports, and correspondence—and providing real-time interpretation during meetings, training sessions, and daily operations. Responsibilities
- Provide accurate Mandarin-to-Indonesian and English interpretation during daily operations, meetings, and training sessions.
- Translate written materials such as technical manuals, safety guidelines, shipping documents, and internal communications.
- Assist in bridging communication gaps between Chinese management and local Indonesian workforce to ensure clear understanding of tasks and expectations.
- Review and proofread translated documents to maintain consistency and quality standards.
- Support logistics and manufacturing teams by clarifying instructions, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Participate in site visits and inspections to provide on-the-spot translation as needed.
- Collaborate with HR and training departments to facilitate onboarding and skill development programs for Indonesian staff.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin Chinese and Indonesian; strong command of English is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional translation or interpretation experience, preferably in a manufacturing or logistics setting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Chinese Language, or a related field.
- Familiarity with industry-specific vocabulary in wood processing, transportation, or logistics is highly desirable.
- Excellent listening, comprehension, and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to varying work schedules (including possible shift work).
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Certifications in translation or interpretation (e.g., HSK, NAATI, or equivalent) are an advantage.
