This role focuses on operating the flexographic printing press to produce high quality packaging materials while meeting safety and efficiency targets. In this contract position, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating the flexo press, monitoring print quality, and ensuring accurate color and density. You will collaborate with the quality and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and waste, while adhering to all safety and GMP standards. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate the flexographic printing press according to job orders and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor print quality and consistency, adjust inks and doctor blades; verify color matches.
- Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping on printing equipment; report issues promptly.
- Manage materials, ink usage, and substrate changes to minimize waste and downtime.
- Verify parameters, record production data, and ensure on time packaging.
- Follow safety policies and GMP guidelines; wear PPE and maintain a safe work area.
- Assist in color matching and trial runs for new designs.
- Collaborate with quality and maintenance teams to reduce downtime and optimize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; technical vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience operating flexo printing presses; knowledge of inks, substrates, and color management.
- Ability to read job orders, color standards, and production specifications.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine adjustments and minor maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and accuracy in documentation.
- Safety conscious and able to work well in a team environment.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, TPM, or continuous improvement initiatives.
