Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join our expanding Accounting team. In this critical role, you will ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. You will gain deep expertise in Philippine payroll legislation, tax compliance (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG), and HR best practices. You will work directly with senior accountants and HR professionals to refine our payroll processes.

Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll for all employees accurately and on time using payroll software and manual calculations when necessary.
- Maintain and update employee master data, including bank details, tax status, and deductions.
- Compute salaries, overtime, night differential, allowances, and deductions in accordance with company policy and the Philippine Labor Code.
- Prepare and file monthly and quarterly remittances for BIR (Withholding Tax), SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG.
- Generate and distribute payslips, annual certificates (BIR Form 2316), and other payroll-related reports.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with internal and external audits related to payroll and benefits.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay discrepancies, benefits, and tax matters with professionalism and empathy.
- Stay current with changes in tax laws, government regulations, and industry best practices to ensure full compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in payroll processing and government remittances. Fresh graduates with strong internships are welcome to apply.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS) and experience with payroll/HRIS systems (e.g., Sprout, QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of Philippine statutory benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG) and tax regulations (BIR withholding tax, compensation tax).
- Exceptional numerical accuracy and strong problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling sensitive employee data.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict payroll deadlines.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Filipino.
