Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for wood manufacturing, carpentry, and cabinetry projects.
- Manage the tender process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating submissions, and assisting with contract negotiations.
- Administer project contracts, including the assessment of variations, claims, and interim payments.
- Conduct site measurements and valuations to ensure accurate progress claims and final account agreements.
- Monitor project costs against budget, identify potential cost savings, and provide regular financial reports to management.
- Liaise effectively with project managers, production teams, suppliers, and clients on all commercial and contractual matters.
- Provide expert advice on contractual risks, procurement strategies, and dispute resolution related to timber and joinery works.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Wood Technology, or a related construction-centric discipline.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a significant focus on the wood manufacturing, carpentry, or cabinetry industry.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Solid understanding of construction contracts, tender processes, and project cost control principles.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications for timber and furniture products.
- Familiarity with local building regulations and industry standards in Singapore.
