Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee regional tax compliance activities including corporate tax, SST, and transfer pricing requirements for Malaysian operations
- Prepare and review tax computations, returns, and related documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Monitor changes in local and international tax legislation, assessing impact on business operations and recommending appropriate actions
- Collaborate with regional finance teams to optimize tax positions and implement effective tax planning strategies
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and internal stakeholders on tax matters, audits, and inquiries
- Support the implementation and maintenance of tax systems and process improvements
- Prepare tax reporting and analysis for management review and statutory compliance
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW) is highly advantageous
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant tax experience in a corporate or Big 4 accounting firm environment
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations including Income Tax Act and SST requirements
- Proficiency in financial systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Experience working in an agile, multinational environment is a plus
