In this role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining the world-class visual standards of our park by performing intricate theme painting and restoration on a wide variety of themed elements.
As a Scenic Artist, you will be responsible for ensuring that every corner of our park remains vibrant, authentic, and captivating for our millions of guests. You will work closely with the creative and maintenance teams to execute precise color matching, aging techniques, and material finishing, ensuring that all architectural and decorative elements are restored to their original, high-quality appearance. Responsibilities
- Execute high-quality theme painting and touch-up work across various park attractions and themed environments.
- Perform precise color matching and specialized aging or weathering techniques to maintain set authenticity.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to identify and repair damaged scenic elements promptly.
- Prepare surfaces through cleaning, priming, and base-coating to ensure long-lasting durability of finishes.
- Operate and maintain painting equipment, including airbrushes, spray guns, and various manual brushes.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and park protocols while working in public and back-of-house areas.
- Document restoration processes and report on the status of themed assets regularly.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in scenic painting, fine arts, or professional set finishing.
- Proficiency in using various painting mediums including acrylics, oil-based paints, varnishes, and specialized faux-finish materials.
- Strong understanding of color theory and the ability to replicate textures and effects accurately.
- Ability to work at heights and in outdoor conditions as required by park operations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a creative team.
- Flexibility to work shift hours, including weekends and public holidays, to meet park maintenance schedules.
- Diploma or certification in Fine Arts, Design, or related vocational training is highly preferred.
