Our client, a global leader in industrial components, is seeking a dynamic Senior Cost Accountant (or Cost Accountant) to join their finance team in Singapore. Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain detailed cost accounting records, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
- Conduct monthly cost close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and management reports.
- Analyze production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend process improvements to enhance margins.
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and sales teams to understand cost drivers and support pricing decisions.
- Develop and update cost models, bill of materials (BOM), and overhead allocation methodologies.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and longâterm financial planning initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and statutory regulations.
- Provide adâhoc financial analysis and support for special projects as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) is advantageous.
- Minimum 3â5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within manufacturing or industrial sectors.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Solid understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management principles.
- Excellent analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to partner with crossâfunctional teams.
- Detailâoriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fastâpaced environment.
- Knowledge of IFRS or Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) is a plus.
