As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for comprehensive financial management including general ledger operations, month-end and year-end closing processes, tax compliance, and budget management. Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger operations and ensure accurate financial record-keeping in accordance with accounting standards
- Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of financial statements and reconciliations
- Handle tax compliance matters, including GST, withholding tax, and corporate tax filings
- Develop and monitor annual budgets, tracking expenditures against forecasts and providing variance analysis
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation and responding to audit queries
- Conduct cash flow management and forecasting to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs
- Perform strategic financial analysis and provide recommendations to support business planning and decision-making
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software systems
- In-depth knowledge of Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and tax regulations
- Experience in budget preparation, financial analysis, and cash flow management
- Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
