Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical and strategic guidance on low-carbon technology adoption, including renewable energy, hydrogen, and carbon capture.
- Lead the design and appraisal of climate-mitigation projects within ADB's investment portfolios.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders to develop robust climate policies and regulatory frameworks for net-zero transitions.
- Conduct high-level technical feasibility studies and environmental impact assessments for large-scale energy projects.
- Mentor junior staff and promote knowledge-sharing initiatives regarding climate finance and sustainability.
- Identify and mitigate climate-related financial risks in regional infrastructure investments.
- Represent the Asian Development Bank in international climate forums, technical committees, and stakeholder workshops.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Environmental Science, Economics, or a related field; Ph.D. is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10-12 years of professional experience in climate change mitigation, renewable energy projects, or sustainable development.
- Proven track record in managing complex multi-disciplinary projects within international development institutions or the private sector.
- Strong understanding of international carbon market mechanisms, greenhouse gas reporting standards, and climate financing instruments.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to influence high-level government and private sector decision-makers.
- Experience working in the Asia-Pacific region is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential.
