Private Advertiser is currently seeking experienced Steel Fixers / Reinforcement Workers to join our growing team at a dynamic mining construction site in Sintok, Kedah. About the Role:
As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for the precise cutting, bending, and installation of steel reinforcement bars (rebar) to ensure the structural integrity of concrete foundations, slabs, walls, and columns. Working closely with site supervisors and engineers, you will interpret technical drawings and rebar schedules to execute installations accurately and safely. This role is pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety on our project site.

Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings, rebar schedules, and specifications for structural steel reinforcement placement.
- Cut, bend, and shape steel reinforcement bars (rebar) to required dimensions using hand tools, power tools, and bending machines.
- Assemble and install rebar cages, mesh, and individual bars into formwork for foundations, columns, beams, and slabs.
- Secure rebar using tie wires, chairs, and spacers to ensure correct positioning, lap lengths, and concrete cover.
- Inspect and check the alignment, spacing, and stability of installed reinforcement against project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, complying with all site safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with the construction team to ensure project deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Perform general manual labor duties on site as required by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Steel Fixer or Reinforcement Worker, preferably in mining or heavy civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of rebar grades, sizes, and standard tying techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and rebar bending schedules.
- Physically fit and able to perform heavy lifting and stand for long hours in a demanding outdoor environment.
- Valid safety certification (e.g., CIDB Green Card / Yellow Book) is highly preferred.
- Own transport to the site in Sintok, Kedah is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality, durable work.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
