We are currently hiring a motivated Trainee Mechanic to join our workshop in Miri, Sarawak. This entry-level role is designed to develop your hands-on skills through structured training, mentorship from experienced technicians, and real-world maintenance tasks on world-class equipment.

As a Trainee Mechanic, you will learn to perform basic repairs, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and inspection routines on Komatsu machines. Responsibilities

  • Assist senior technicians in performing routine maintenance and repairs on Komatsu heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders) and related machinery.
  • Learn and apply diagnostics and inspection procedures using standard tools and equipment.
  • Participate in safety training and strictly follow company safety policies and procedures.
  • Prepare work areas, organize tools, and document service activities and outcomes for each job.
  • Assist in parts identification and ordering under supervision to support timely service.
  • Support field service technicians during on-site maintenance at customer locations as needed.
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks under mentorship and escalate complex issues to senior technicians.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workshop and ensure proper waste disposal and equipment cleanliness.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; interest in mechanical trades
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and curiosity about heavy equipment
  • Willingness to learn, train, and complete the program requirements
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures
  • Basic problem-solving abilities and manual dexterity
  • Familiarity with hand tools is a plus
  • Legal eligibility to work in Malaysia and ability to travel to customer sites if required
