We are currently hiring a motivated Trainee Mechanic to join our workshop in Miri, Sarawak. This entry-level role is designed to develop your hands-on skills through structured training, mentorship from experienced technicians, and real-world maintenance tasks on world-class equipment.
As a Trainee Mechanic, you will learn to perform basic repairs, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and inspection routines on Komatsu machines. You will build competency with tools, safety procedures, and service documentation while contributing to high standards of reliability and uptime for our customers. This is a growth-focused position with clear milestones toward becoming a skilled technician within our service team.

Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians in performing routine maintenance and repairs on Komatsu heavy equipment (excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders) and related machinery.
- Learn and apply diagnostics and inspection procedures using standard tools and equipment.
- Participate in safety training and strictly follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Prepare work areas, organize tools, and document service activities and outcomes for each job.
- Assist in parts identification and ordering under supervision to support timely service.
- Support field service technicians during on-site maintenance at customer locations as needed.
- Perform basic mechanical tasks under mentorship and escalate complex issues to senior technicians.
- Maintain a clean, organized workshop and ensure proper waste disposal and equipment cleanliness.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; interest in mechanical trades
- Basic mechanical aptitude and curiosity about heavy equipment
- Willingness to learn, train, and complete the program requirements
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures
- Basic problem-solving abilities and manual dexterity
- Familiarity with hand tools is a plus
- Legal eligibility to work in Malaysia and ability to travel to customer sites if required
