SIA Engineering Company is seeking a skilled Aircraft Composite Technician to join our dynamic team in Changi, East Region. In this contract role, you will be responsible for the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of advanced composite structures used in modern aircraft. As a Composite Technician, you will perform hands‑on tasks such as lay‑up, vacuum bagging, autoclave curing, inspection, and repair of composite components. You will also be expected to interpret technical drawings, follow strict work instructions, and maintain accurate documentation. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, possesses a strong understanding of composite materials and processes, and is committed to upholding the stringent safety and quality standards that define the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities
- Perform composite lay‑up, vacuum bagging, and autoclave curing processes according to engineering specifications.
- Conduct inspections and non‑destructive testing (NDT) on composite parts to identify defects and ensure airworthiness.
- Execute structural repairs on aircraft composite components using approved repair schemes and materials.
- Interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and maintenance manuals to guide fabrication and repair activities.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, material usage, and inspection results in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure a clean, safe work environment by adhering to company safety protocols and FAA/EASA standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including training and skill development programs.
Qualifications
- Recognized certificate or diploma in Aerospace Engineering, Composite Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience working with aircraft composite materials (lay‑up, vacuum bagging, autoclave).
- Solid understanding of composite repair techniques, inspection methods, and relevant aviation standards (FAA, EASA, SAR).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency in using composite tools and equipment (scales, rollers, vacuum pumps, autoclaves).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work on a contract basis and adhere to project timelines.
