Join Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) as an Assistant Director / Senior Manager (Programme Management) for the National Robotics Programme. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for the National Robotics Programme, aligning with national technology priorities.
- Manage a portfolio of R&D projects, ensuring milestones, budgets, and deliverables are met on time and within scope.
- Build and sustain strong partnerships with research institutions, universities, industry leaders, and government agencies.
- Oversee programme governance, including risk management, compliance, and reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive technology translation from lab to market, fostering innovation and commercialisation.
- Monitor global trends in robotics and AI to identify opportunities for Singapore’s competitive advantage.
- Prepare high-level reports, presentations, and policy recommendations for management and external partners.
- Mentor and develop junior programme management staff to build organisational capability.
Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in programme management, preferably in R&D, technology development, or public-sector innovation.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder programmes with a budget of several million SGD.
- Strong understanding of robotics, AI, and their applications across industries.
- Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to influence and negotiate at executive levels.
- Experience in Singapore’s research or innovation ecosystem is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership in driving cross-functional teams and managing change.
