Job Description

Are you a passionate engineering professional looking to lead a technical team in a critical infrastructure project? SMRT Corporation is seeking a dedicated Assistant Engineer, Sentosa Express to oversee the maintenance and operational excellence of the iconic Sentosa Express monorail system.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading a team of Technical Officers to carry out comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) works. You will ensure that all engineering activities are executed strictly in compliance with relevant procedures and safety requirements. As a key member of our engineering division, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and punctuality of our transport services, contributing to the vibrant tourism and transport landscape of Sentosa.

We are looking for an individual with strong technical acumen and leadership capabilities to drive our maintenance standards to new heights.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of Technical Officers to execute Preventive and Corrective Maintenance (PM & CM) works on the Sentosa Express monorail system.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant engineering procedures, safety regulations, and quality standards during maintenance operations.
  • Monitor the operational status of the monorail system and conduct regular technical inspections to identify potential issues.
  • Diagnose complex engineering faults and coordinate effective troubleshooting solutions to minimize system downtime.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal asset performance and service reliability.
  • Conduct training sessions for Technical Officers to enhance their skills and ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation as required by regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
  • Relevant experience in railway engineering, public transport operations, or a similar technical field.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team of technical officers.
  • Strong working knowledge of railway systems, safety standards (e.g., Workplace Safety and Health), and maintenance protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
