Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate pastoral care initiatives, ensuring timely and appropriate support for students facing personal, emotional, or academic challenges.
- Develop and implement outreach programs to promote mental health awareness, wellbeing, and resilience among the student population.
- Manage a case management system to track student concerns, escalate critical issues, and maintain confidentiality.
- Collaborate with academic departments, residential life, and student organisations to integrate pastoral care into the university ecosystem.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for staff and student leaders on recognising and responding to mental health and wellbeing concerns.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support services, using data to drive continuous improvement and best practices.
- Serve as a key point of contact for students, parents, and external agencies regarding student welfare and crisis intervention.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate key metrics and insights to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Education, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in pastoral care, student support, counselling, or a similar role within a tertiary education setting.
- Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with empathy, discretion, and professionalism.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the capacity to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of mental health issues, crisis intervention protocols, and available community resources in Singapore.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering training or workshops on wellbeing topics.
- Proficiency in data management and report generation; familiarity with student information systems is an advantage.
