As an Associate Piano Educator, you will guide young beginners (ages 4-10) through foundational piano techniques, music theory, and performance skills. Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one and small group piano lessons for junior division students (ages 4-10) following the school’s curriculum.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate technique, sight-reading, ear training, and music theory.
- Prepare students for graded examinations (e.g., ABRSM, Trinity) and periodic recitals.
- Monitor and report each student’s progress to parents and senior educators.
- Maintain a positive, encouraging classroom environment that builds confidence and discipline.
- Assist in organising student recitals, workshops, and school events.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to continuously improve instructional methods.
- Ensure all teaching materials and pianos are well-maintained and ready for lessons.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Music, Piano Performance, or Music Education (or currently pursuing).
- Minimum ABRSM Grade 8 or equivalent in Piano (higher grades preferred).
- Prior experience teaching piano to young children (at least 1 year) is highly valued.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children and parents.
- Patient, creative, and passionate about early childhood music education.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and school holidays.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in all interactions.
- Singaporean / PR / valid work pass for casual employment.
