Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one and small group piano lessons for junior division students (ages 4-10) following the school’s curriculum.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate technique, sight-reading, ear training, and music theory.
  • Prepare students for graded examinations (e.g., ABRSM, Trinity) and periodic recitals.
  • Monitor and report each student’s progress to parents and senior educators.
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging classroom environment that builds confidence and discipline.
  • Assist in organising student recitals, workshops, and school events.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to continuously improve instructional methods.
  • Ensure all teaching materials and pianos are well-maintained and ready for lessons.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Music, Piano Performance, or Music Education (or currently pursuing).
  • Minimum ABRSM Grade 8 or equivalent in Piano (higher grades preferred).
  • Prior experience teaching piano to young children (at least 1 year) is highly valued.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children and parents.
  • Patient, creative, and passionate about early childhood music education.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and school holidays.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional in all interactions.
  • Singaporean / PR / valid work pass for casual employment.
