Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes for assigned faculties/departments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with institutional strategic plans.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to support scenario analysis, resource allocation, and long-term financial planning.
- Prepare insightful financial reports, variance analyses, and presentations for senior management and board-level committees.
- Partner with academic and administrative leaders to provide financial advice, identify cost optimisation opportunities, and drive operational efficiency.
- Monitor key financial performance indicators (KPIs) and proactively flag risks and opportunities to stakeholders.
- Coordinate the preparation of financial projections for new initiatives, capital investments, and grant applications.
- Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, systems, and data analytics capabilities.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline from a recognised university; professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) is highly preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably within a large, complex organisation (e.g., university, public sector, MNC).
- Strong proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting systems (e.g., Hyperion, Anaplan, or similar), and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a strategic mindset.
- Proven track record of presenting complex financial data clearly and persuasively to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse teams.
- Experience in the education or public sector is an advantage, as is familiarity with Singapore's financial regulatory environment.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
