Monkey's Canopy Resort is seeking a skilled and dedicated AV Technician to join our dynamic team in Sungai Long, Selangor. As an integral part of our resort operations, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining all audio-visual systems to ensure smooth, high-quality event execution across our premier resort venue.
In this role, you will work closely with our events and hospitality teams to deliver exceptional AV experiences for weddings, corporate functions, conferences, and leisure entertainment. Responsibilities
- Set up, configure, and operate audio-visual equipment including speakers, microphones, projectors, displays, and lighting systems for various resort events
- Monitor AV systems during live events, troubleshooting technical issues promptly to ensure seamless guest experiences
- Coordinate with event planners, resort management, and external vendors to understand AV requirements and deliver customized solutions
- Perform regular maintenance and preventive checks on all AV equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Maintain accurate inventory of AV supplies, equipment, and accessories; report any necessary repairs or replacements
- Stay current with emerging AV technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and enhancements
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and proper handling of electrical equipment during all event operations
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members and event assistants as needed
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Audio-Visual Technology, Electronics, Information Technology, or related technical field
- Proven work experience as an AV Technician, Events Technician, or similar role in hospitality or event management
- Comprehensive knowledge of audio systems, video projection, LED displays, and lighting equipment
- Familiarity with AV control systems, mixing consoles, and wireless microphone technology
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and clients
- Physical capability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights, and perform tasks in various weather conditions
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays based on event schedules
