Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor upstream bioprocess equipment including single-use and stainless-steel bioreactors up to 2000L.
- Execute cell culture seed train, production, and harvest operations under cGMP guidelines.
- Perform in-process sampling, testing, and data analysis to ensure process consistency and product quality.
- Collaborate with process development teams for tech transfer, scale-up, and process optimization.
- Maintain accurate batch records, logbooks, and electronic documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot process deviations and participate in root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
- Train and mentor junior team members on upstream operations and aseptic techniques.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, efficiency, and safety.
Qualifications
- Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field. MSc/PhD is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years (Biotechnologist) or 5+ years (Senior) of hands-on upstream processing experience in a cGMP biologics manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mammalian cell culture, fed-batch, and perfusion processes.
- Proficiency with bioreactor control systems (e.g., DeltaV, Rockwell, or similar).
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA, ICH) and quality systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work in shifts and occasionally extended hours to meet production targets.
