In this role, you will be responsible for configuring BMS software, integrating sensors and actuators, performing commissioning and testing, and validating system performance. You will monitor real-time data, fine-tune control strategies for HVAC and energy management, and troubleshoot issues across hardware and network layers. You will also create thorough documentation, including wiring diagrams, sequence of operation, O&M manuals, and commissioning reports.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, configuration, and commissioning of BMS solutions across new builds and retrofits.
  • Install, calibrate, and optimize BMS hardware and software (sensors, controllers, actuators, gateways).
  • Develop and tune energy management strategies to reduce consumption and costs.
  • Commission trending, alarms, and integration with BAS; monitor system performance.
  • Conduct regular maintenance, fault diagnosis, and preventive maintenance on BMS.
  • Troubleshoot network, BACnet/Modbus communications, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical training and handover to facilities staff.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or related field.
  • Practical experience with BMS platforms (e.g., Schneider, Honeywell, Siemens, Trend) and familiarity with HVAC controls.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and building protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, control sequences, and commissioning test plans.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; customer-focused.
  • Willingness to travel to sites as required; valid work authorization.
  • 2+ years of hands-on BMS or controls engineering experience (entry-level friendly for the right candidate).
